Here at Miller Family Dairy, our cows aren’t the only ones excited for fall! We are absolutely thrilled to open our gates and launch our brand-new educational field trip program for local students this October. We would love to invite your class to spend a fun-filled day on the farm with us. It’s a wonderful, hands-on way for kids to see exactly where their milk comes from and connect with the hard work that goes into running a dairy.

What Your Students Will Experience: To make sure every student gets an engaging, up-close look at farm life, students will rotate through 8 learning stations exploring how milk travels from our farm to the store. At the end of the day, every student will receive a fresh, cold bottle of our milk to take home and enjoy!
- Live From The Parlor: Kids will get a front-row seat to watch our cows being milked.
- Farm to Fridge: We’ll walk through how milk gets from our happy cows all the way to your local grocery store shelves. Students will get to see the processing rooms and milk tanks.
- Calf Corner: Meet our sweet baby calves. Students will even get to pet them.
- The Feed Trough: Learn what cows eat. Students will go hands-on with an activity to teach them how a cow’s rumen works.
- The Baby Barn: Students will learn what it takes to care for a newborn calf. They’ll see the babies get breakfast and even get to help us name a baby!
- Happy Cow Check-Up: We’ll give one of the cows a check up and learn how we tell if cows are happy or if they are feeling unwell.
- Milk Moolie: Students can see what hand-milking a cow is like with our fake cow Moolie.
- The Play Patch: Students can take a break for some play time. We have a hay maze, corn pit and an inflatable obstacle course for the kids to enjoy!
